Itinerary

Day 1Arrival Trivandrum - Kovalam

You are greeted on arrival at Trivandrum International Airport/Railway station by Travelogue representative and transferred to Kovalam the beach, enriched with rich Greenery of Coconut Palms and laced with golden sands. On arrival check-in at the hotel. Rest of the day is free to relax and enjoy the beach. Stay overnight at Hotel.

The serene beaches of Kovalam have located approximately 20 km from Trivandrum – Kerala’s capital. Trivandrum or Thiruvananthapuram is centrally located and usually the central hub from where travelers spread out to visit the various tourist places in Kerala. Hop into the A/C cab provided by Kerala Tour Packages and dive into a power nap to prepare yourselves for the day ahead or take in the local sights and sounds as you travel through Kamaleshwaram and Paravakunnu. Interesting fact: The famous Pazhanchira Devi Temple which is over 700 years old and was founded by a Sidhayogi lies in this route close to Paravakunnu.

Before you know it, you’ll be greeted by the tranquil sound of blue waves emerging from the Kovalam beach. With three crescent-shaped beaches huddled next to each other, Kovalam has been one of the most sought-after tourist places in Kerala by travelers who love the seaside. Having become a magnet for eager tourists around the world, you can see the entire coastline dotted with seaside activities, trinket shops, ayurvedic spas and shacks. All this without the noise and annoyance of beach destinations you will find elsewhere.

If you’re the adventurous kind, give the endless list of seaside activities a shot like parasailing, kayaking and surfing. Walk past the little shops tucked away in the countless lanes in Kovalam for some souvenir shopping. The list to things to do in Kovalam goes on and on, rightfully cementing its place at the top of the best tourist places in Kerala.

Day 2Houseboat ( Alleppey Round )

Today morning after breakfast proceed to Alleppey, known as the Venice of the East. On arrival check into a Traditional Houseboat of Kerala Style. Cruise through the back waters is the fabulous way to explore the fascinating beauty of backwaters. Stay overnight in the Houseboat (A/C).

Fondly called Alappuzha by the locals, Alleppey often finds itself on Kerala tourism promotions and advertisements. The silent and serene backwaters lined with towering palm trees make it one of the best tourist places in Kerala for families and couples looking for honeymoon packages in a houseboat.

The backwaters are an integral part of the state of Kerala. Alleppey backwaters are formed by the constant force and movement acting on the west coast by waves in the Arabian Sea that create low barrier land pockets at the mouth of the 38 rivers traversing the length and breadth of Kerala. Travelling on a houseboat is great way to get up-close with the local culture by watching the locals go about their everyday chores, fisherman setting up the nets for the day and most importantly discover a unique side of India.

Day 3Thekkady

Today morning after breakfast disembark Houseboat and proceed to Thekkady. On arrival, check into the Resort/Hotel. After lunch visit spice plantation like cardamom, Pepper, Coffee, and tea estate etc… On way back to hotel you could stop at the local market and pick up some fragrant spices. Overnight stay at Hotel.Thekkady is another place in the list of the best tourist places perched in the heart of Kerala that should be on every South India tour package. The geography of Thekkady lends to a different vibe during different seasons ensuring the best time to visit Thekkady is… well…anytime! Summertime during March till May is a great way to enjoy Thekkady to yourselves as tourist activity drops during this time which means great deals, less crowds and more adventure. The monsoons from June to September is the best time to visit Thekkady as the rains nourish the flora and the whole region takes on a new shade of green. Winter season from October to February draws in adventurous travellers and tourists who embark on riding and trekking activities throughout the sprawling trails spread across Thekkady.

Day 4Munnar

Morning after breakfast move to Munnar hills. On the way to Munnar you can see tea gardens spread like a green carpet over hundreds of kilometers, lush green hills, a place so difficult to describe, very low population too far from pollution, most of the area covered by Tata tea. Day 5Munnar

The local District Tourism Council lets you take a boat trip around the Mattupetty Dam, which is a popular picnic spot for tourists visiting Munnar. Pothamedu will leave your mouth wide open with a breath-taking view from the top of the hills with the outline of the Idukki Arch Dam in the background.
